Things To Consider When Eloping in Hawaii
If you’ve decided to elope in Hawaii I can honestly say you won’t regret the decision! There are so many great aspects of eloping in Hawaii, and we wanted to outline a few things to ensure you’ve thought about the process thoroughly.
HAWAII MARRIAGE LICENSE:
We assist all of our couples with the marriage license application process, as well as filing the paperwork with the state of Hawaii following the elopement ceremony. Hawaii has it’s own specific set of rules when applying for your marriage license and you’ll want to ensure you have all of the necessary information to make the process seamless. Whether you’re eloping in Hawaii from outside the U.S., or if you’re U.S. citizens, you’ll need to know a few key things when getting your marriage license.
HAWAII CEREMONY LOCATIONS:
Did you know you need a special use permit for almost any location you decide to elope in Hawaii? Well, we do, and the best part is that we file and obtain this permit for you. The rules and guidelines of this can be a little bit tricky. If you’re going to elope to Hawaii, make sure you go through this process, either with us, or on your own, before you make any set plans.
Something else to consider about the location for your elopement is traffic. Foot traffic, car traffic and the many other kinds of traffic that exist in Hawaii (think surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, etc….) Do you know the Islands well enough so that you’re either ok with onlookers OR you can select something more secluded? Luckily, we can walk you through this and pick a location for your elopement that fits your needs.
HAWAII WEDDING VENDORS:
You’ll want a vendor team for your elopement. Whether it’s just a photographer and Officiant, or if you want professional hair and makeup and florals, you’ll want to choose wisely. I’m a fan of the mindset that simple is best, but also keeping in mind that this is your wedding day and it’s worth it to invest in all of those little details that will make it feel special. If you’re coming all the way to Hawaii to elope, at a minimum I recommend professional photography, beautiful florals, a licensed Officiant and a hair and makeup stylist. You won’t regret feeling and looking beautiful on your wedding day, and your beautiful and professional photos of your elopement in Hawaii are something that you’ll cherish forever!
